Janine Dowdle

Janine is a Naples, Florida based artist, formerly based in Baltimore, Maryland. She works primarily in acrylic paint on canvas. Her love of texture, layering and color shines in her abstract paintings.

Her work has been shown in local Baltimore shows and galleries, including an installation at SoBo Market in 2018, and at fundraisers for Center Stage and Cristo Rey, as well as in The Baltimore Sun. She also contributed to the All You Need Is Love campaign for the Ronald McDonald House of Maryland, where her painting “We Are Family” has a permanent home.

She started painting in 2010 and is completely self-taught (though she worked as a drafter in the 1970s) and started accepting commissions in 2016. She works extensively with her clients to give them a great art-buying experience and to produce artwork that they love.

Janine is originally from Illinois and attended the University of Illinois, where she met her husband Tim, who is a woodworker and retired engineer. She is a recent transplant to Naples, along with Tim and her painting buddy Samson, a German Shepherd. She is also a mother of three, world traveler, and accomplished volunteer (Reading Partners, Red Cross, and Ronald McDonald House of Baltimore).
